SOAR’s Outreach team is currently collaborating with the CEMS DEI working group to examine current modes of outreach in the department, and communicating with teachers to identify barriers to outreach access. Using information collected from surveys and other communications, our medium-term goal is a new, department-wide system for facilitating outreach, which lowers the barriers for participation by grad students, faculty, and outside institutions like K-12 schools.

COVID-19 currently prohibits most in-person outreach. Virtual outreach opportunities are being explored and discussed for the upcoming academic year.
